Here comes some basic knowledge on photography...:)
The very first thing i get to learn is...how does a picture form?
Oh..actually it's to let the film being exposed to light, to capture the light of that particular moment.
For a beginner like me, the first thing to learn, is this "Exposure Triangle".

ISO, Aperture, and Shuttle Speed
We've been always seeing this ISO values, such as ISO50, ISO200, ISO1600 and so on.
This ISO means the sensitivity to light of the film. The higher the value of ISO, the more sensitive it is to the light.
So, this would mean, a camera with the higher value of ISO, would have better feature/ability to sense the light, thus producing better picture quality, especially in the dark.
Secondly, the aperture. Aperture can be said as the 'window' in the lens of a camera. It controls the amount of light to enter the camera. The aperture value, comes in times of (surd2), such as F1,F1.4,F2,F2.8,F4 and so on...
The smaller the value of F, the bigger the 'window' is, meaning it allows greater amount of light to enter the camera, thus producing a brighter photo.
Besides, this aperture also affects the field of depth. The greater the aperture, the brighter the photo is, and the lower field of depth the photo has-- it has blur background. This would 'emerge' the main subject in the photo, making it more obvious and attractive.
Next, is the shutter speed. This would mean, how fast the aperture opens; the longer the time, more amount of light is allowed to enter the camera.
Shutter speed of a camera comes in units of 1,1/2,1/4,1/8,1/15,..so on seconds.
The lower the shutter speed, the brighter the photo is, and it will have smear effect, and easily blur,if you shake.
Therefore, the very basic thing of gtaking a photo, is adjusting these 3 ISO, aperture and shutter speed to get the best which suits your taste and feel. :P
